A Message from the Executive Director

Mrs. Shannon Hackett-Eady has been the Executive Director of the Fairfield Alabama Housing Authority (FAHA) since 2001. Shannon's experience with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) programs includes Public Housing, Housing Choice Vouchers Program, Capital Funds, and Resident Initiatives Programs. She has a desire and passion to provide affordable housing to families that need safe and decent housing.

Shannon believes the stigma of Public Housing is of the past; therefore, the FAHA is recognized as a housing community where everyone is held to a higher standard of accountability. This promotes the opportunity to “Build for a Better Tomorrow.”

Shannon is a native of Fairfield and earned her bachelor’s degree from Miles College. Shannon recently graduated with her Juris Doctorate from the Birmingham School of Law for an expanded understanding of the law benefits of FHA long term.
